Boarding

Health and Vaccinations

Only cats that have a current vaccination certificate against Feline Infectious Enteritis and upper respiratory infections (Cat Flu) can be accepted for boarding. Owners must produce an up to date inoculation certificate on arrival. Vaccination against Feline Leukemia is optional. Should the annual booster be due, it should be given at least 10 days before boarding.

Details of flea treatment and worming will be asked for on arrival.

No cat suffering from, or suspected to be suffering from, any infectious disease can be accepted. All cats will be examined on arrival, but the proprietor reserves the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of ill health pending advice from a Veterinary Surgeon.

Un-neutered male cats over the age of seven months, will not be accepted for boarding as they could present an infection hazard.

Diet

We aim to ensure your cat is fed as s/he is at home – food requirements will be requested on arrival. All cats are fed twice daily- however, where requested, alternative feeding arrangements can be accomodated. Fresh water is provided at all times

Cats requiring prescription only diets will require the owner to provide sufficient food for the duration of boarding.

Medication

Any medication prescribed for your cat may be continued during its stay with us.

Diabetic cats are welcome

24 hour veterinary attention is assured.

Beds & Toys

All guests are supplied with moulded beds lined with a fleecy vetbed. If your cat has his/her own bed at home or favourite toy you are most welcome to bring this with you to help it settle in. Cats new to boarding find this a particular comfort.

Grooming

Owners may bring any grooming brushes or combs if they wish to, we have a plentiful supply of our own if required.

We pay particular attention to persian and long haired cats.

Companionship

Your feline friend will not lack company during his/her stay as there is constant activity at the cattery. As well as the morning and evening feeding and cleaning rounds, all cats are checked at lunchtime and late evening where your cat can receive individual attention, be it play, grooming or quite simply a cuddle and fuss as required. Background music for the benefit of the cats is played throughout the day until the late eveing check.

Should your cat be particularly nervous or timid, please let us know and we will endeavor to find the most peaceful accomodation for them.

Recycling & Waste Management

We have now introduced the following:

  • recycling of all our paper, card, plastic bottles, glass, foil, cat food tins and green waste from the cattery gardens.
  • employed a professional waste management company to properly dispose of our litter waste.
  • collecting all our used stamps for charity.
  • we are in the process of switching all the cattery lighting to low energy bulbs.
  • we would like to reduce our paper output, so if you would like to help us and receive your confirmation letters by e-mail, please let us know when booking.
