Jet and Flora
Jet is a black male, approx. 4 years old – he was abandoned at a feral colony but he is most definitely not feral! He is very affectionate, a real lap cat – he’s happy to be handled, picked up and cuddled and will even allow his tummy to be tickled. He has a lovely purr and many variations of chirrups as he talks. Jet is a real player, he adores catnip mice and ping pong balls, he’s quite kittenish at heart. His interactive play can be a little rough although there is no malice in it, he’s just not been taught any ‘manners’ as a kitten. He has a good appetite, he’s not fussy and he uses a litter tray.
Flora is a black and white female, approx. 1 year old – she was part of a litter dumped locally. Flora is a very gentle, slightly timid girl but has come on a long way. She can be handled, even picked up but she is not a lap cat. She loves to be fussed under the chin and purrs loudly to show her appreciation. Flora loves to play, mainly under the cover of darkness but is quite happy to snooze openly in the afternoon sun. She has a good appetite, likes chicken and uses a litter tray.
Although Jet and Flora came to us separately and from different locations they were housed next to each other for their first six weeks in care and were slowly introduced to each other - it proved to be a great success. Jet loves Flora to pieces, he is protective of her and loves to play with her. Flora just adores Jet and follows him everywhere, they even sleep together now. He has really brought her out of her shell, a new confident Flora is emerging! We are so pleased with how both cats have come on and they should most definitely been homed as a pair now they have formed a strong bond.
A home with experienced owners is preferable as it will take time to earn Flora’s trust, no young children (under 5) because Jet can sometimes claw during play and ideally a safe and secure location as Flora has never been outside before (she has grown up in care). Jet and Flora are great characters and will make lovely pets for that special someone willing to give them a chance and offer them a loving home.
Jet has been neutered and Flora has been spayed, both cats have been flea / worm treated and are vaccinated against cat flu, enteritis and leukaemia.
